Really my cup of tea. no pun intended.

It's been a long time since I last read it. A couple of hours in, I'm almost half way through it. Nothing could beat it.

What's with the excessive "god" and "jesus"? Is that something of the 1980s? Annoying tbh.

I fell asleep while reading this! That's how boring it is. I'm getting the impression that Eleanor is a grumpy bitter kid. "That stupid Asian kid". "the dumb cat".

Im not sure how i feel about the curse words in this book. So far, it's a bit concerning, since this book targeted young adults . "Dick-licking" said by a teenager. "pussy" being said by a father to a son. Wow.

This book really is a page turner. The harshness truth of life slapping on and on. It's so sad to see how women are treated in the community back then. Being a Muslim myself, thankfully this don't happen.

I just need to quote this out of the book :

..."the world didn't see the inside of you, that it didn't care a whit about the hopes and dreams, and sorrows, that lay masked by skin and bone. "

Engulfing. Don't expect the plot twist. I thought it would turn out to be something else. But I love it nonetheless.

It's super easy to get on with this book. Almost impossible to put down. I love it so far. I love the characters and the writing style. I'm dreading the teary parts though.

Finally! Something happened.

Not all "Asian" looks like characters out of a manga comics. Its just Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Philippines, Vietnamese. The other "Asian" don't look like a manga characters.

Thank god Peter is in the book. The jealousy is interesting at least. And the Harry Potter reference kinda makes me want to reread the series (which i definitely will). I'm halfway through it , but nothing happen yet?? A whole chapter about going to a state sale, for nothing?? The only thing that keep me reading is that to know how it will end. I don't want to cheat and skip to end. But I might as well do that.
