Heather is on page 129 of 418 of In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens: Womanist Prose
I have to recommend this book to every single woman, man, and person I possibly can. If you love literature, start at the beginning. If you are looking for insight - or solidarity, depending on your circumstance - into history, diversity, ethnicity, and humanity, start with the essay called "The Civil Rights Movement: What Good Was It?" and be moved to tears, to love - to hope.
