Liking it more than the first time!

Rhulad appalls me and I missed Tehol and Bugg. In short still a great book.

There's a reason I always come back to Stephen King when I want a good read and that's his writing. Despite dealing with gruesome themes, like in this book and many others of his, there's something about the way he tells his stories that pulls me and many others into his books and doesn't let go until the last page and sometimes a little bit after as well.

I'm on Craig Schaefer marathon and I love it!

I'm really enjoying this one. Who would have known that something I thought of as standard fare urban fantasy is capable of tackling a topic as serious as US prison system and the problems that it has.
It's always nice when I come across authors that are capable of things like that without sounding preachy.

1/5 done and it's unbelievably slow compared to other books. Can't say I like it.

Is it sacrilegious to say that so far I like this better than Hyperion? Surely I must anger somebody with that? :D

I'm really enjoying it so far. Esslemont has much more straightforward style compared to Erikson, but that makes for more of action heavy scenes.
I really like his characters too.
I think RotCG is so far an improvement on Night of Knives, and that's always good.

Beak is such a lovable character. A Malazan's own Dustin Hoffman from the Rain Man, only with magic. Love how he refers to warrens as 'candles'.

Can't say I'm enjoying this one so much as some other entries in the series. I don't really care about the new characters or plot lines when it comes to Redmask, Letherii empire and especially the Patriotists. Too many new faces so late in the series that bog down the narrative. Tehol & Bugg's, Karsa's and Icarium's, Silchas' and Rulad's parts are great as usual though. Looking like a 3 star so far.

King of the Road is another great book in the Belcher's urban fantasy universe that ties Nightwise and this franchise. It's dark, fast paced and action packed.

Tschick is a great book to learn German, if you're anywhere in medium-high level already. I think there's English version as well. It is YA, but it's not a cliche. Yet.

But I'm craving some hardcore fantasy. I think I'll pick up Reaper's Gale (Malazan) next.
