Pretty intense stuff

Pretty much how I expected it to start, but they're in a much shittier state. Pretty cool so far, but nothing too spectacular. Tbh im not even 100 pages in, so I can't be too fussed.

The 2 vs 4 duel was fire. Lift might also be my new favorite character LOL her humor is 10/10 and its only her first chapter. "I want you to voidbring this window"

I was too harsh on Shallan. Her decision making is awful, but she does in fact have the skills, and surprisingly enough, the poise to carry out these insane tasks that have been given to her. Im excited to learn about her dark past and see how this all turns out.

Shallan is probably the most useless character I have ever seen, with the most insane resources at her disposal. Wtf are these decisions she is making. Sanderson was most likely high out of his mind on a mixture of class A drugs writing this fuckery, please God give me more Kaladin chapters.

480 pages in and I like it, but Sanderson has a terrible habit of dragging things out so unnecessarily. Shallans journey to the shattered plains felt like 10 years. And she wont stfu about useless shit and when meeting Dalinar, instead of talking of the fate of the world she instead falls in love with adolin and ofc more stalling and avoiding the important topics.

Love the character work so far, and its very cozy. Hope it does get a little more exciting tho

This book is fucking incredible omg, all of Dantes' plans are coming to fruition. Absolute cinema

Also that dialogue between Valentine and Maximillien might be the most beautiful that I have read so far. Im not a big fan of romance novels, but romance that is done as perfectly as this is ofc an exception.

All these characters link to one another in such a way that I can't help but think of Shakespeare. Even through his transition into becoming a novel writer you find traces everywhere of his ties to play writing, but they only help to bring his stories together. Banger so far, around halfway done, but super hyped to see how this all ends.

Interesting side story happening, which is not in Dantes' POV which strange but not bad. Im interested to see where this story will end up

ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Abbe Faria the goat. RIP. man this book is so fucking good. The pacing is actually perfect.

The pacing is literally perfect wtf, this translator did a good fkin job. Instead of the usual movie, this is shown as a play in the mind, with the occasional comment from a distant, but not seen, narrator.

Only 16 pages in and I can feel the beginnings of an exciting adventure ahead. The translator was correct in saying that this was like a children's novel, not in a bad way ofc. The lack of subtlety, in exchange for a more traditional melodramatic style, like a play is very refreshing and very different from modern story telling techniques. Very excited to see where this goes.

Should be titled 'Anxiety'. I need to take a break from reading every couple chapters because this shit is too intense LOL. fire so far, but I can already tell that the ending of the book will decide whether this book is an all-time fav for me or just meh.

What a nightmare LOL this must be every celebrities' worst fear when it comes to obsessed fans. Spooky but I like it so far. Already progressed so much while only 70 pages in, I can only imagine the crazy shit that's gonna happen.

The pacing is either perfect or extremely slow. Sanderson also has this habit of terrible communication between his characters to prolong the plot which has been a recurring issue throughout this book. Also if he describes the same 3 plants over and over again and im gonna lose my fucking mind, but overall the book has been very good and much better than mistborn ever could be.
