Eww. What is this I’m reading? It feels like watching a train wreck in slow motion—messy, chaotic, and hard to look away from. Getting into Perla’s head is deeply uncomfortable, and honestly, I kind of hate it. The story is gripping in a twisted way, but it’s definitely testing my tolerance for psychological discomfort.

Reading this is making me increasingly frustrated—not with the brutal nature of the crime or the killers themselves, but with Capote’s narrative choices. The book devotes an extraordinary amount of attention to the inner lives, thoughts, and emotional struggles of the murderers, particularly Perry Smith.

The book is a rehash of all Gervase Phinn's previous books. I am bored.
I want to finish this quickly and move on to the next book, but getting back to this book is a chore.

This book was published 100 yrs ago. This quote is relevant even today. When Galahad keeps saying 'in the 90s', I suddenly realized he meant 1890s, not 1990s 😊

Ouch! This is so tedious. It took me 3 days to read 50 pages. So many characters and all conversing through mails.
Who writes emails saying ' I will join you for the run tomorrow'. Then ' Hey, i had got my jogging shoes. I got to know you were on leave today'.
I did check the timestamp on these mails. they are all in 2018🤦‍♀️
