"Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream" has been the star of the show so far...and it's certain to be adapted soon. Would work well as a limited series.

It's been decades since I've read anything by Irving, but he is still one of my all-time favorites. A Prayer for Owen Meany, the 158 lb Marriage, Garp, Son of the Circus...all hold a special place in my reading heart. I'm excited to get back into his books.

Excellent so far. Violent and intense.

Grabbed this one because it was handy, but it's been a fun start. I haven't seen any of the remakes. And I love hearing the neighbors voice in the original Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster) drawl voice in my head. Ya awt na ga an tha!

She does so much with so little. Truly the most efficient literary artist I've yet encountered. Each story is a warm slice of this fantastic world. Bring on the finale!

Through the first three, and I'll be damned if this wasn't the best fantasy trilogies I've read in decades. Better than Narnia, and Dragonlance. Wastes no time.

Truly great, once I adjusted to her writing style. So many ideas in modern fantasy have been plundered from this book.

An interesting interstate listen

Satisfying finish that left me ready for more. Characters and world grew appropriately. Funny and never cliche.

More misses than hits so far, but, as usual, when Vonnegut makes contact, he does so in a way that honestly puts all other writers to shame.

Ends a bit tidily, but overall worth the read. I hope she considers doing a children of Ember book someday.

Going much faster than anticipated, extremely well paced!

A return to Ember?! Setting itself up for an adventurous conclusion.

A couple of classics so far, Harrison Bergeron in particular is a near flawless short story, but even more interesting is watching Vonnegut try to write in what for him must have been a pretty strict format. I'm looking forward to the afterword that no doubt discusses this.

A worthy follow-up to what will likely become a kid lit. classic, which is a difficult task, and this book is by no means a retread. It goes on to explore even deeper and more meaningful themes, in some ways, than the City of Ember did, and also has an extremely satisfying ending.

Once again handling some heavy topics with the type of grace that can be appreciated beyond just the intent of reaching its target audience, but the prose isn't equaling the original.
