Chels is on page 100 of 352 of Midsummer Night's Mischief (A Wiccan Wheel Mystery, #1)
Actually one of the things I enjoy about the book is the little Wiccan things the main character does. They feel pretty authentic to me, like looking at a tree to center themself or lighting candles in a certain way. That all seems like something normal Wiccans would do, which I appreciate since that's the main quirk of this particular cozy mystery series.

I love the idea of a Wiccan cozy mystery series but this one feels so slow. So far only a little bit of magic and a lot of wondering/wandering for our main character.

These typos feel like they're almost every other page. Again, here's an example on this page: "It bursts in my first as I siphon its power. " Clearly it should be fist, not first, but there's a fair few typos like this.
Regardless I'm really enjoying this book. I love the Brooklyn Brujas series, and wish there were many more.

I'm enjoying this book a lot, though my copy seems to have a lot of typos. On page 214, "They rot shouldn't exist." Sometimes we're missing 'the' in the sentences, other times two words create a confusion. I love the way Córdova writes, but for some reason my copy has lots of little typos.

Finally at part 2! I didn't realize that she doesn't find the diary until now. I thought that happened right away.

This is my second read of this series and I totally forgot just how bad of a start Adele, Issac, and Desiree get off to. They also appear so much quicker in the novel than I remember.

Such a wonderful story. I think young Spanish speakers would love this novel. I'm really enjoying it, even though I don't know any Spanish. Leo is an adorable character with faults and wants of her own. I can't wait to see what else she'll get herself into.

This book is a lot of fun. I'm in love with all the silly rich problems that are interspersed with the more serious family structures and ideals.

I cannot put this book down. It's a fun and enthralling read set in New Orleans with tons of magic and mayhem. It's written in first person and I'm finding that Adele is interesting and fun. It's insanely long as if it was written as a fanfic. It feels both slow to uncover the mystery and too fast in some parts of action and there have been a few times where I've been confused about the placement of characters, etc.

I'm really enchanted by this book so far. It's not something i would have ever picked up, but for some reason i was called to it. I'm enthralled by the strange family. I love the setting and the feel of the Rio past and present. My issue though is with the dialog, as it's stiff and strange and doesn't feel like real people chatting. There have also been a few over explained sentences.

Just finishing up The Deathday Party chapter and things are just beginning to take off in this novel. In the years since reading this novel I'd forgotten all about the deathday party. But seeing the ghosts, it's nice that there are a few chapters of just living at Hogwarts. It's something that I must have truly grasped onto when I was a child and didn't realize I missed as an adult.
