The group has gone to the Kirin caves to meet the rest of the misbegotten. 1 chimera throws a hamsa; a seraphim shoots a chimera. “Ziri” manages to stop things from getting crazy.

Akiva is back with the Misbeggotten. Liraz has developed feelings in general. Ziri misses his body and hates being in the Wolf’s body. Zuze and Mik are still accompanying the chimeras. Jael has made contact with the Pope.

Karou and Akiva are trying to stop Jael from starting the apocalypse on earth.

Akiva killed Joram; Jael killed Japheth, now Jael is Emperor. Zuze and Mik were sent back home. Issa is alive and with Karou.

Issa has been resurrected. Thiago wants to kill Karou. Karou/Akiva encounter went bad. Both sides are still getting ready for war.

Karou-working for Chimera (Kirin) to kill/resurrect them in better bodies to prepare for a war against Angels (seraph). Akiva-traveling with Liraz/Hazael to kill off chimera; Akiva still wants to save them. Zuze finally heard from Karou via email. The whole world is on the watch for “devil girl” bc Karou went around stealing teeth.

Karou is missing. She left Akiva after he told her he killed Brimstone and everyone else. Zuze has been emailing her with no reply. Akiva returns to his home to face his siblings, Hazael and Liraz. They get into a fight, Liraz spares him. They attempt to start forgiving him after he explains everything to them. They go with him to look for Karou. He finds her staff and a note in her birthplace.

Plot is thick, yet a bit slow progressing. Could better be straight to the point.

Easy to follow plot, yet very interesting. Keeps you on your toes, is not a predictable story at al.

Wonderfully written book. I couldn't put it down the second I picked it up, so much so I read 151 pages in my first sitting. The plot is easy to follow but is not mundane or boring; it's very riveting and stimulating. The characters are so interesting, compelling and just colorful. So many parallels between this and The Girl at Midnight.

So many plot twists. The Edmund ch. is a bit confusing.

Good start. 1st chapter is a bit confusing. I don’t know/remember who Edmund is. Not really thrilled about Nat’s dad, Johnathan being back. Great recap once again. Not sure why it took so long to find out Nat’s mom’s name is Siobhan. Plot twist after plot twist. I love it.

Progressing fast. Ash and Nat broke up for literally 15 pages only. On a good note, author is not afraid to take risks and kill off characters. Really excellent at writing characters in a way that makes you fall in love with them right away.

There is a Hunger Games meets Twilight’s forbidden love, kind of vibe going on. The unexpected couple is similar to Echo and Caius in “TGAM”. There seems to be an odd love triangle forming, like Peeta, Gail and Katniss type of deal. The best/saddest part is the parallel between Natalie/Polly and Katniss/Primrose. President Snow and Puritan Rose are exact parallels of each other.

Great recap and summary from the last book. Instead of facts being strewn about it made things clearer in one single read than it was in the first book. Action packed and angsty with first couple chapters already.

Something to read for fun and escape; good book. A serious read, not the book for you. Kind of teenage like.
