Okay that was a cool twist… I just wish it didn’t take THIS LONG to get to it.

I’ve never read a book rated this highly on goodreads and had SUCH a hard time with it. I was not equipped for the low fantasy side plot about a great quest. I just wanted to read about a modern(ish) day plant uprising and all the mayhem that implies. The main character is dry, has very few thoughts about what is going on around her, and the fantasy plot line… it’s just a mess and I don’t care about it. SLOW.

The writing is getting pretty stale on me… the plot is thin, they STILL haven’t forked, and the pacing is just so… boring. I’m getting so bored that the tension/buildup is kind of fading. Looking forward to reading something more exciting soon.

This is my first romance book I’ve started reading non-ironically, and hey, I’m enjoying it 😊 I’m pretty interested in what past the characters are hiding. Some subtle notes of misogyny; women being the weaker sex, needing men to protect them, etc., but it’s not overwhelming lol.

I hate to say it but I’m getting close to putting this down for a while. It reads so slow, so much detail and context to everything, and it’s really heavy as well. And very triggering to readers with SH in their past. I feel myself gravitating more to the fun stuff right now, and not this which gets darker the further you go. I respect this book a lot but I may have to buy it to go at my own pace.

I actually can’t wait to be done with this book!! So frustrating!! It’s so depressing as well, but I only have 100 pages left so I gotta just tough it out.

This book is driving me crazy. I can’t stand the main character and all the wishy-washy conflicts she keeps having with the other characters. The writing style is stale and slightly redundant. But I’m invested in the story and want to know what happens, though it’s clear things will only keep going downhill.

This book makes me feel so incredibly unintelligent and unremarkable. But man is it beautiful!

This book is kind of crawling by… I bought it a while back (because I enjoyed If You Tell) and had it in my kindle library so I figured I ought to give it a go. It’s kind of padded out with background on unimportant characters. I wish it was told in a more linear way, but I don’t read true crime that often. This could be the norm. The more conversational segments are really fun to read though.

This is by far the most horrifying and despicable thing I have ever read. It’s like the terror and abuse will never end, going on and on with these horrible stories from the victims. Manipulation and humiliation to the absolute extreme.
So horrible, but I can’t stop reading it!!

The sort of stream-of-consciousness writing style is taking a little getting used to. But oh boy.... young men surviving and loving each other in pioneer times........ my heart.

Really exciting and dark so far!! I wish I woulda read a few pages before buying though, as my birthname is a pretty big feature in this book. But other than that, this has been like watching an action/suspense movie so far. I’m flying through it.

I was really really enjoying the first half of this book, what with the unique premise, but as it’s gotten into the second half and onward I care less and less.. the romance isn’t really special and they go straight to fucking. Their attraction comes from the fact that she is frail and he is tough. Ok. I don’t feel like there has been enough actual bonding, meanwhile there’s a fucking murderer on the loose.

Absolutely fascinated with this book. Blake Crouch has me wrapped around his finger yet again.
I tell myself I’ll just read a bit of it, then sit down and before I know it 50+ pages have flown by in a blink.

I loved Dark Matter to pieces and Recursion definitely isn’t disappointing me at halfway through. I literally cannot fathom how it’ll end at this point.

Character dynamics are changing, things are unfolding, we have more questions than answers.... delicious

I missed this series!! It feels so homey and I love the characters. It’s not perfect, but I still love it.

Honestly... this book so far is a pass from me. The main character is just so plain and unremarkable, the writing is kinda dull, and the plot isn’t very believable. Like, the moon got hit by an asteroid and it’s coming towards the earth!! But only a little bit. It stopped moving, somehow :-3 ?????? Makes sense. I’ll be surprised if I can get through this book, even with it being as short as it is.

The language of this book is very 70s and like... dated, but I’m really getting into the story!! It’s pretty dang spooky my friends.

Really starting to get into it! It was hard to read at first but I really wanna keep going now. I love the complex characters even though it’s just Louis and Lestat at the moment..

I am really liking this so far!! It’s so on my level. Fingers crossed that it’ll click and I’ll actually put the work in to have a lucid dream.

Bruh I’m gonna be real with you this is probs the most cringy thing I’ve ever read. So cheesy and stereotypical, with a frustrating and nonsensical romance... but I like paranormal stories so I’m gonna finish it. I don’t see myself reading the next book in the series after this though.

So far this book has been unbelievably good for me... it came into my life purely by chance, it was sitting on a shelf, out of place at the library, and I decided to give it a shot. This book is exactly what I needed right now on my road to recovering from mental illness and self loathing, in order to hopefully take my life back.

Seriously, this is the craziest book I’ve ever read. I don’t think a book has ever kept me on edge this much!! It’s kind of like if House of Leaves was written like an actual book, with real twists and direction.

This book... this is wow-ing me so far. It is so, so intense and just... big. Lots of suspense, good, good pacing, interesting characters. I also enjoy the short historical stories at the end of each chapter.

I’m digging it. Solid contemporary vibes, good friend characters, nice pace. I want to know who Blue is....

I for some reason I thought this might be about books, but I was wrong... I’ve had this book for years and it had teased me enough with its cover and title. It’s been a little slow going but I think I’m starting to get into it.

I wanted to check out this book since I heard people calling it creepy with “beastiality themes,” but I honestly like this so far! It’s not hard to follow, but still sucks you in. Paranormal romance can only entertain me so much but I’m digging this. Interesting take on lycanthropy.

I actually started reading this more than a week ago. Jacob is good and I would die for him... as he was getting sick when the first change was starting to come onto him it was more important for him to enjoy Bella’s presence and tell her that he’ll be there for her unconditionally. I dig him.

Edward is so cute when he’s out in the woods feelin himself after desensitizing himself to Bella’s scent or blood or whatever. He’s so cocky but not in a total asshole way. Also wow Bella is manipulative as fuck to Jacob from day one.... give me the wolf boy
