Couldn’t finish it. Good bingo at the beginning about saving the children but then gets boring just going back in history telling about his personal life. Not told in a very attention grabbing way. Would’ve liked to rate it higher if it had focused more on the saving acts he did.

A great and clean feel-good book about overcoming the obstacles of WWII. Loved it!

Apart from some interesting tidbits… that are hard to know if true or not.. and some dry Jewish humor and cultural references, I kinda hated the book. It was honestly hard to get into it and i just wanted to get to the part where I felt like I learned something of substance; but that never truly came. I should’ve researched it more. I would choose a different book for a deeper look at Ben Netanyahu.

Very well-written! Lots of detail and a lot of information about the Hungarian’s perspective and experience of World War II. Strong family ties and hope, a great book, although I’d caution that it does have a bit of mature content. Not unnecessarily detailed, but a warning for those who care.

Wow 😳 This book is the raw story of a boy who amazingly beat the odds and worked his butt off to not grow into the cookie cutter image of his dad. It is filled with hard events that I imagine could be triggers for someone who may have experienced neglect or abuse as a child. I would rate it for a mature audience, as it describes crimes and uses profanity, needed for this account.
