Already kind of disinterested... I think he's trying to explain the genetic predispositions don't stop you from trying and being your best self but he's doing it in a way that undermines genetics altogether. 🙄

Okay, DNF. Not because the book is bad, but it is HEAVY. I listened to the audiobook version, which I would actually recommend over reading the book.

I had heard that Tiffany Haddish had a difficult childhood but I was not ready. The story started out relatively light, parents divorced, bad school system. It was really hard to listen to the abuse and assault. I might pick this up again in the future...

That is some realistic writing.

"A murder nineteen years ago and a murder this morning. Surely that can't be a coincidence."

I think that's the stupidest line in this book. What? Nothing about the location or date was the same...

Hahaha well let me tell you...

This biography is, in reality, a scrapbook of different accounts of RBG, rather than "[her] own words." But I don't dislike that since the accounts are very personal. Her late husband is really sweet in chapter 4.

"Well, without changing her bright smile, Ruth smacked me right in the stomach, but not too hard. And I give you this picture because it fairly captures our nearly 50 year happy marriage..." M. Ginsburg
