Gundega is starting Dark Rise (Dark Rise, #1)
Had to reread before starting the sequel. It reads a bit better the second time around.

Comforting in its suffering, devastating in its beauty. Thankfully, I was already thoroughly depressed before I picked this up again.

I had forgotten why I had this book in my to-read list, and was very pleasantly surprised to see clear asexual representation. That aside, the story is also quite interesting, I'm definitely glad I picked it up.

Certainly alright to listen to while doing something else.

I'm not exactly sure how far into this book I am, but let me applaud it for having a parental figure that cares about their offsprings mental health.

Maybe it struck a chord with me only because my own father couldn't be bothered to even learn the name of my diagnosis (it's four letters, it's not that hard!) and recently acted very dismissively when I explained how it manifests, but, hey, who cares, it's still good.

Started this to calm down after serious self reflection as a fun, chill read. Only 4 chapters in, I can see why this book has so many disappointed readers.

I, myself, as many others, was immediately excited about the characteristics of the main characters, but, alas, they're either annoying or frustrating. I assume I won't be cheerful if I continue on, but I'm still determined to finish the book.

This book is exhausting in the same way that therapy is exhausting. It gently forces (what an oxymoron!) one to look at their life, and then do something about the red flags.

I like it. I'm glad to have it included in my book streaming service, but, nevertheless, I will be buying a physical copy as well. This is one of those books that needs to be around if the need strikes.

Just paused the audiobook (it's so nice to hear a familiar voice!) to acknowledge that I've smiled, felt seen and understood, and also cried before even getting to the first part of this book.

It might not mean a lot to anybody else, but it does to me. This book is good, and I feel safe reading/listening to it.

I have one specific grievance with this book: there's just too many times of Kvothe finally coming to some luck to then loose it immediately. It's tiresome and unimaginative.

Also, Denna as a character really didn't merit such a long description by multiple (!) other characters. In truth, it did her more bad than good. It wasn't her that made me sick of this book the first time, but the way others talked of her.

Getting through Kvoth's accounts of Denna is physically tiring. Putting this aside until the weekend, maybe then I'll be able to get through it.

I'll be honest, this seems like a book for people who solely believe the world turns around them and are forced to come up with the terms of it just not being the truth.

Nothing makes you realise how many e-books you own better than adding them all in on Calibre. One-by-one.

This far it feels like a poorly written and somewhat twisted version of "Captive Prince". I'm not impressed.

Gundega is finished with Saga, Volume 1
I started this, thinking it would be one of those (comic) books that I grab and end up finishing months later, yet it's 3 hours later and I want moooore. Also, I really thought I would stop wasting my money on comic books/manga (since I never seem to read the ones I buy anyway), but I want both hard cover editions as soon as possible.
