DNF. I tried, it's not bad, just not my thing.

Ew. Yuck. No thank you. If it were not for the fact that I am reading this for book club I would have DNF'd almost immediately. I am finishing it only because I have Strong Feelings that I want to discuss with other people at said book club. Do not recommend.

We have reached the point where this book is being referenced in multiple other books i am reading and I don't get any of the references so I'm begrudgingly picking this up. I'm sorry but I am a huge grump and I hated throne of glass but I am doing my best to keep an open mind

Who is this for??? If it's middle grade, there's a lot of gore. If it's YA, the themes are so heavy handed. Either way it reads like bad fanfic

🙄 I'm convinced this book was written to exclusively to demonstrate why you should "show, not tell". Every other chapter is a secondary character spouting exposition like an NPC in an open world game
