The narration for this book is so delightfully charming. Monday's explanation for why she's substituting Charlotte's Web for Elements of Style cracked me up to the point I had to tell someone about it.

One thing I know for sure, this author is who I'd call if I needed to dispose of a body. 😬

I don't think I'm the audience for this book. I was expecting something like The Bear and the Nightingale and I don't understand what this is. I want to love it.

It's a chicken instead of a puffin. Barbara might be my favorite character in this novel.

I was annoyed by anachronistic phone stuff, but now we're supposed to believe that people would believe that the McDeere's kids have measles? Mitch and Abby McDeere are anti-vaxers? No way.

I want to like this book. However, I'm not paying much attention to what's going on and it's looking more and more like a DNF. Bummer..
