First time with a fantasy-horror and actually quite enjoying it.
A good mixture of fun surrealism and graphic imagery.

Giving this a spin on my audible free trial.
27 hours of horror fantasy to keep me company whilst commuting.

Ok slow burner to start but NOW its getting creepy.

HEAVY atmosphere

Spoke to soon though, quite long chapters without a break.

"The evil is the house it's self..."
"It has enchained and destroyed its people and their lives..."
"It is a place of contained ill will"

Dark, chilling atmosphere already.
"Hill house is vile. It is diseased; get away from here at once."
Im getting a strong sense of 'yearning to belong' from Eleanor.
Liking the small chapter divides, e.g Ch 1 - pt 1, pt 2, p3, easier to portion.

Theres something so very satisfying about this gothic
