A fun audiobook.

Set aside for now. Intriguing book but I’m more in the mood for cozy mysteries or other genres right now.

Excellent and practical! And funny.

This book somehow manages to be very sad and very hopeful at the same time. Reminds me of my many emotions this past year.

Really enjoying this audiobook. Good narrator and interesting story.

So far it’s really good. I have only had time to listen to the first chapter. It was motivating and encouraging to hear about the mother of John Newton, Elizabeth. She died when he was only 7. And she had many health problems that probably made it hard to parent with energy. But he praised her later in life as being a godly influence and teaching him about the Bible.

I have been busy and haven’t made time to read this week until last night.. I stayed up late and devoured 150 or so pages of this story. It was highly intriguing. Looking forward to reading more tonight!

This quote from near the beginning of the book is so striking to me:

“We should love the law because we love Jesus, and because Jesus loves the law. Contrary to common belief, the Pharisees were not lovers of the law; they were lovers of self."

This is a good audiobook. Each chapter is written by a different author. So far, my thoughts on it are that it is thoughtful, biblically sound, and well written.

Four stars so far.

I don’t normally read books like this but it sounded interesting.

I was right. This book is heartbreaking but I can’t put it down.

Beautiful writing. I can tell this is going to be an emotional story to read! I’ve already wiped tears away several times.

Found this on a free book table months ago and it’s been on my nightstand ever since. Picked it up this past week and I’m amazed by how timely it is right now. Good book so far! (I’m only two chapters in)

A page turner so fat!

Some passages are a little boring to me but overall, I’m enjoying this book. It feels so authentic. If I didn’t know better I would assume it was written in 1914 or shortly thereafter. Some parts remind me Jame Austen’s books and other parts bring to mind Louisa May Alcott.

This book is gently stirring my heart to pursue God in a fresh way. It’s not the most theologically deep book I’ve ever read but it’s message is what I need right now I think.
