Another book fallen to the miscommunication trope smh 😔

I looked up what Canadian locations would likely be targets of nuclear attack, and as of 1991 both Toronto AND Hamilton were on that list. Sooo like, I hope it’s quick?

1. I’m convinced that If there’s an afterlife, and you’re taken out by the initial blast of a thermonuclear bomb, your soul is just straight up eviscerated and you’re not getting into Heaven or Hell.

2. There’s something poetic about a book detailing how you and the world as you know it could literally be disintegrated in seconds at any time, is retailing at $40. I just don’t know what yet.

I love that some of the science is just “yeah you gotta just trust us on this one, I’m a big technical guy typically but this time around, I can’t help you.”

She’s so unlikeable 😭 like I love the concept, but she hurts my brain and gives me secondhand embarrassment so hard I don’t know how to finish this book. And she’s so careless with the lives of the dog and the bird; if they die or are never heard from again I may have to 1 star it out of spite

I hesitate to call this woman crazy, but like, there is something deeply unhinged within her

“I hadn’t thought of Popper even once,” yeah I noticed about 6 pages back 🙄

1. There is no reason chapters should be 138 pages long. I don’t care how many subsections you have within the chapter. At that point, just split it up by parts. If your book is 800 pages, you can afford a few more chapters.

2. Look, this guy isn’t awful, and I don’t want him to go to jail, but I really hope he stays far away from Pippa.

If the cat dies, this book is getting one star.

Look, if I have to read 276 pages of this and it’s on Goodreads, it’s getting logged.

If I had a nickel for every time I read the word fastidious this month I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Reading this feels like watching coronation street in that as a child I assumed these were required media for adults 💀

Wow, I did not expect this twist especially with 70 pages to go, I’m shook 😬

I love libraries. I nearly bought this book, and I’d have been sorely disappointed I think.

Alright, if you’re pulling out words like fastidious, I’m going to bed.

I didn’t think the spider book would make me cry

I did sort of spoil the book for myself, I read the back of the second book 🙁 I mean I guess I could have guessed 😂

I have to say, I much prefer the spider section of this book
