The dialog is just terrible. Melodramatic, twee, geewillikers "Righto!" Everyone but the kids seem to communicate in exclamation points.

Putting this one on hold. I can handle most real-life type horror, but some things I can't take if it becomes frequent. I'll read this in e-print once the price of the ebook comes down/goes on sale. It's easier to skim/skip when reading than listening.

Loving this set of stories so far! I'm just now starting the third story.

The most horrifying parts of the book are how the racists behave moreso than the supernatural events.

Letitia is my favorite character so far. She's very crafty.

I am loving this book and don't want it to end.

Finally got to a point in the story with Severin telling her story and some of the pieces are coming together.

I'm not sure about this one yet. Reading it put me to sleep, and my mind is wandering as I'm listening to the audio. I feel like there is no substance yet. It's possible I'm not a fan of "snippet" or "fragmented" style story telling. Using quotes there because those aren't quite the words I mean, but can't think of them right now.
