After leaving this to sit beside my bed for over a month with 0 words read and no interest in picking it up I have decided to DNF. I really don't like to do that after this many pages read but I have been so slumpy I just don't want to force it. Perhaps I will come back to this one at some point, but for now it is adieu.

I cannot read this book. The writing is so clunky and jumpy, I just can't get into it. I am so disappointed!

Maybe a bad choice to start reading this right now?? But Imma risk it...

Loving having a new Tempe Brennan book to listen to! I am having the worst time with the way the narrator is voicing Det. Ryan though... not sure what accent she's giving him but it just does not sound right.

I just can't finish this. DNf'ing at 48%.

I am having a bit of a difficult time getting into this one and considering DNF'ing it. I am curious about the solution though, so we shall see. I don't like the main character so far and I feel nothing for her or any of the other characters. I also feel like it is very heavy on telling and less on showing. I was just told about the level of sexual tension in the room...and would never have guessed it otherwise

Let's try this again! I know so many people love this book - I feel like I need to give it another chance. I also haven't stopped thinking about it since the last time I attempted it. So that is promising.

I have heard such wonderful things about this book and I am having the most difficult time getting into it. I'm not sure if I would have more luck in physical book form as opposed to audio. I think I might temporarily DNF until I can get a different version from the libray. I just don't know if I care about the man...

I have had this book on my list for ages! It is finally time to pick it up and see what I think of it.

Didn't mark this when I first started reading... and now it has to go back to the library. Until next time.

Oh my goodness! She just monologued about a dry cleaning conspiracy and it was wonderful.

Dear Self: You probably should have waited to listen to the end of this until you were alone... all of the emotions.

I just finished the first story, and overall I really enjoyed it. I loved the premise and the mystery was really intriguing. No spoilers, but I was a bit disappointed by the ending. It was both too clean cut for my liking and not tied up enough. I can't say anymore without spoiling the ending. But I loved the characters and I think I would have enjoyed a full length story with them. 3.5

Listening to the audiobook. I just can't decide if I'm actually enjoying this book. Since so many of my audiobook loans have become available at the same time, I'm considering DNF'ing...

I am listening to this on audiobook, and though I am loving the narrator, I am wondering if it would be better read in print. Or maybe I just need to read it when I have nothing else to distract me. I am enjoying the story, but I keep losing focus and I'm worried I'm going to miss something major. Or that I already have.

Annndddd.... I accidentally just returned it to the library. So now it sits for a few weeks until I can get it again.
