I already know how this will end (hopefully this retelling will retell the end too) so I am already reading this as slowly as possible because I'm dreading the end.

I am so enamoured by the dialogues. The verisimilitude is uncanny! I can feel Chris' anxiety. I feel sorry for Raegan. I want to know what makes Father Karras brood. The atmosphere is immersive. It's like looking through a window and peering into the most intimate and shadowy corners of these people's lives.
