emotionally effective. the overly poetic flow was not my style but still reached me. the emptiness of the lives was overwhelming. no mention of anything of substance. but the flow of the book conveyed the life of gay drag queens in new orleans in the fifties. best part was no effort to explain the life for straight audiences.

Best Sedaris for me. Sadness in every line. Realness. Yet still is hilarious as he explains his logic.
