This book reminds me what great writing is! Through the traumas of war, there is a light in the human connection and perspective is importantl. I can’t help but relate to how the world is losing its mind in war the world is experiencing in 2026. Be BOLD!

Wow what a roller coaster. I listened to the audiobook and was slightly put off by how many times Jet uses the f word…I get it’s her character. After I got past that- loved the twists and turns. There are more important things in life…home is wherever YOU are

I enjoyed this book more than I expected. The complicated relationship between Norma and her mother was relatable and the love of Ruthie’s family was refreshing. “As the ones we love get older we begin to separate like oil & water.”

Family is difficult. The loss and sadness Norma experiences is palpable.

We make allowances for some people in this world. *show kindness as you never know when you’ll need some kindness in this world

It’s eye opening how deep weight bias and diet culture runs. A pediatric dietitian specializing in eating disorders said this book helped her better understand her patients and families.
