Pillars has been on my all time favorite book for years. Somehow I didnt think the others in the quintet would match up. I was very wrong.. at least so far!

I usually either finish books or give up at about 10 to 12 percent. Because if the awards and rave reviews i kept plodding along. I really just dont care enough to continue. The suspense in the set up. The love interest, the guys in the coffee shop kept me going...until i realized that i cant bear another attack of fisticuffs or foot race across old New York.

I wish i could say why st 65%, I have no interest in finishing this book.

The author has read this audio book, I loved the delightful sly smile moments. What i don't understand, in one section, I'm in love with the father or the mom or one of the boys. In the next, i don't care. They are like strangers and I just don't care about them half of the time.

Fantasy is not my thing so lers assyne rhus us magucal realism - ish because i am spellbound by the frequent bouts of lovely prose and descriptions that force me to read and reread and then highlight and bookmark. Im loving the story... Is there enough plot to carry us anither 200+ pages ?

I've finished the first if these three books... Had to push myself a little until I made it past the middle ¡ the last 25 % flew by.

The problem with kindle sets of several books is trying to keep track of where I am within one of the books. 38% doesn't seem like I've made much progress until i remember it's an entire book of nearly 350 pages.

Judy King is finished with One Necessary Thing - With the Word Each Day of Lent
I chose this book to be a Lenten meditation aide -- It was ok, good even, but not great. Far better have been the two books I've been reading by Pope Francis.
