Why the heck isn't Batch Edit working? Very frustrating.

Annezo is starting The Heiress from Longbourn: A Pride and Prejudice Variation
First-person, present tense is even more cumbersome when it involves multiple main characters.

I dislike first-person, present tense writing. *sigh*

Annezo is on page 44 of 248 of More Discerning - Volume I - A Pride and Prejudice variation novel: What if Elizabeth were more discerning? (Pride and Prejudice what if variations)
This is my second try at reading this and it's still kind of a slog. Far too much telling and very little showing makes me feel like I'm wading through endless exposition instead of reading a story. No chance of getting lost in the characters or events with this one!

*sigh*

Reality has just been too much for me these last few months. So far, this story is helping me stay immersed in a much less stressful world.

I read a lot. I mean--a LOT. I generally finish a book a day, if not more.

I've been saving up the titles, promising myself I'd get reviews written. Unfortunately, I've now saved up about 200. And I'm wondering if such belated reviews are even worth bothering with (considering it would take me hours, or days, to get them all done) or if I can, in good conscience, just delete the reminders and move on with my life?

Annezo is starting The Summer of 1953 (A Nick Williams Mystery #1-4)
I didn't expect much when I d/l this collection, but I'm into the second novel and I have to say that I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

In what world does an electronic copy of a book cost more than the printed paperback copy?

Do I want to read Covenants by Lorna Freeman? It's been on my TBR list for a long time, but I understand that the series is unfinished and likely to stay that way?

I'm trying, really trying hard, to write more reviews this year. (I certainly have the time these days.)

But I'm just not good at it, ok? I don't want to just recap the book's plot, I don't want to do spoilers, and aside from that, all I really have to say about most books is whether or not I found them readable.

I've kind of been on a "gay detective" kick lately and decided to give this a try, in spite of mixed reviews.

1/3 of the way in, I can say everyone in this book needs a therapist. It's an ANGRY book. And neither protagonist is particularly attractive.

I've just reached the part where the formerly bullied kid apologizes to one of the bullies for not getting over his resentment and my blood pressure is rising.

Being semi-retired leaves you a lot of personal time and I read for hours every day. I'm saving quite a lot of money with Kindle Unlimited, being able to read as many books as I have time for for a modest monthly fee.

Suffice to say, the number of books I've read already this year far exceeds the count shown. (I don't always bother to hit the "end" mark of the book.)

And, I swear, I'm gonna write some reviews.
