I'm six chapters or so in, and so far we haven't even gotten to Egypt! This book could have benefited from a strict editor to shorten this early exposition!

Pretty good so far, but the version I'm reading was "translated' by Google, so it reads a little funny. Still, what strikes me as most surprising is that Leroux wrote two books (that I'm aware of) featuring an ugly man in love with a girl named Christine!
