I know it’s set in the 60’s but I’m just really struggling with the descriptions of all the black people mentioned so far. Everyone is “black as tar” “black as can be” “so black she looked blue” like ummmmmm ok

Okay let’s try this out…I’ve heard mixed reviews and I never hopped on the bandwagon with the book or the movie. Fingers crossed
