This is, for me, had to be one of the hardest reads, I always have to put it away for a bit, then bring it out read a chapter or two. But I like what I read so that still makes it a good read.

Just plucking right along. Yeah this is the type of book where I like to roll the scenes through my head, read some fun and easy books go back read some more, rinse and repeat.

The slang, is period and would not be acceptable by many in today's world. But I am enjoying the story every much, even if it is a bit, um, like a "tall tale" I guess is a good way to put it.

This publication was first printed in 1906. One hundred and fourteen years ago. And then global warming was a topic amongst scientists. And of course controversy.

Reading everyone's review really made me want to read this and absorb it. Really? A lot of you a to sensitive, touchy, picky, jeez I just don't get it. So far from what I've read has been really good. Oddly enough I understand the writing about the building of the Carved and such. Sex scenes? What sex scenes. Boy I must read some pretty racey stuff if this book had lots of sex and such things.

Been wanting to read this since I was 13. I'm 55 now. I remember this from seventh grade, a teacher was reading g it out loud to her class of sixth graders. The chapter that a just finished is what made me want to read it.

Love this book, gives all sort of ideas for fairy gardens, or little miniatures for around your fairy house.
