couldn't find anything good to read after Blade Of Secrets but I've already read everything Levenseller has published so im rereading my favorite of her books 😩

Levenseller's writing consistently tells my reading slump to go to hell... and I love it

Reading this for a book club, but it's bit out of my comfort zone, and I'm not loving it yet 😐

I'm skipping around, but I just read about Wangari Maathai 😍

Because of the great inequality and corruption within the Kenyan government, people were losing their livelihoods and biodiversity.
I find it fascinating that the Green Belt Movement very quickly became about much more than planting trees; I did not anticipate how this would socially affect the women who participated.

For this Lenten season, I decided to read a chapter a day of this book. Unfortunately, I started a few days late 😅 but I just finished ch. 6, and I am loving this read so far. The author does a great job incorporating the Scripture, quotes from popes, as well as explains references to culture in biblical times!

Instead reading this book, I am reading my old, very angsty, book reviews. I am *living* for 'past-me' and her dedication to trashing books 📚
