After my last read, I’m back in the mood to broaden my perspectives. I love the writing, it’s so fluid, conversational, and lovely. I feel like I am Rosie and Penn and I’m learning along with them. Looking forward to the rest!

I suppose I should have been prepared for this, but this is a fact laden, high density book. I do like her perspective, and I’m learning a lot, but it’s intense.

A quick read and definitely gives me things to think about as my patients slowly work to graduate from the ICU. Post ICU Syndrome and Chronic Critical Illness are the focus of the book so far. It’s hard to think about for long because they don’t have a quick answer. But now that medicine can keep our organs alive through so much that used to be a death sentence.

I haven’t read a book like this in a while. At first, I just thought it was a slow start but I quickly became engrossed in the lives of the characters. It’s amazing how you can be just as drawn in to a character drama as you can to a riveting drama. I definitely see why it is so popular. Highly recommend so far!

I was a bit annoyed by the long descriptions at first, but now I am absolutely captivated by this tale! I love learning things you don’t get in school. The bravery of the individuals this story was based on is stunning and inspiring!

Absolutely fantastic. The way she writes, I feel like I’m standing next to her. A definite page turner. I wish I didn’t have to wake up and go to work because I want to read the next chapter.
