I'm struggling to finish this book. I absolutely hate the story. It's bland. I also can't with every character in the book. They are boring and annoying in every aspect. This is a Barnes & Noble book club pick and they're starting off the year with another bad choice.

Read Emily May’s review. “makes for a dull read” CHECK “and even more disappointing to discover we are not being led anywhere remarkable” solidified my choice to abandon this one

I’m so bored. I can’t decide if I should continue reading or abandon this snoozefest

Man baby Tim and Penn have my blood boiling at this point. Fowler has been through so much and worked so hard to get where she is and the damn university f*cked it up 😡

I’ve only just begun this book and I already love it so much. I wish my parents put as much thought into my name as they did Austin’s. The secondary choice of the name is also eye-opening but clever (and unfortunate in our white society). I love her writing. I can’t imagine putting this book down again today.

It’s a good story but the criticism that came out after the book was released makes it hard for me to read it.

I'm finding this one hard to get through because it's kinda boring. Not one of the best in the Reacher series.

OH. MY. GOD. I cannot be more horrified at what I just read. A neurologist's "easier" version of a lobotomy called the "ice-pick" method. Doctors, seriously doctors, used this method on people. It goes like this: "stupefying patients with rounds of electroshock therapy and then inserting a surgical instrument through the eye socket" and, Lord, help me, "swish, swish, swish, scrambled the structure of the brain."

Disturbing, but we already knew that about mental hospitals.

Currently yelling at the protagonists. Why are you so far away from where you need to be at this crucial moment in time?
