"He looks really grumpy," said Hermione, looking around at the many Krums blinking and scowling at them. "'Really grumpy'?" Ron raised his eyes to the heavens. "Who cares what he looks like? He's unbelievable. He's really young too. Only just eighteen or something. He's a genius, you wait until tonight, you'll see."

And then it hit him -- he understood. He hadn't seen his father -- he had seen himself -- Harry flung himself out from behind the bush and pulled out his wand. "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" he yelled.

"It was your head, Potter. Floating in midair." -Severus Snape

"Did she say who did it?" said Dumbledore quietly. "Oh yes, Professorhead," said Peeves, with the air of one cradling a large bombshell in his arms. "He got very angry when she wouldn't let him in, you see." Peeves flipped over and grinned at Dumbledore from between his own legs. "Nasty temper he's got, that Sirius Black."

There was a loud hissing and a yelp of pain; Neville had tried to sit on Crookshanks.

But Harry continued to stare at the front cover of the book; it showed a black dog large as a bear, with gleaming eyes. It looked oddly familiar. . .

"Sword?" said Lockhart dimly. "Haven't got a sword. That boy has, though." He pointed at Harry. "He'll lend you one."

"Because that's what Hermione does," said Ron, shrugging. "When in doubt, go to the library."

It was a voice, a voice to chill the bone marrow, a voice of breath-taking, ice-cold venom. "Come...come to me....Let me rip you....Let me tear you....Let me kill you...."

It was only then that Harry realized what was standing behind Quirrell. It was the Mirror of Erised.

"I'm half-and-half," said Seamus. "Me dad's a Muggle. Mum didn't tell him she was a witch 'til after they were married. Bit of a nasty shock for him." -Seamus Finnigan
