It was the audiobook. Anyways it’s still good and man does George pack in the details in a way that makes it a nice little brain tingler to read (listen to) again

It was a bad sign the Chuck Wendig wrote the intro, it’s not that bad but at least the first two stories feel undercooked.

You can really feel some of the influences in these. Lot of Raymond Carver and Flannery O’Conner in them and by that I mean there’s a lot of characters who are not happy. Still the writing is beautiful and emotional, assuming other reviewers aren’t lying it is probably going to be weighed down by the tone being too much the same in all of the stories.
