I'm struggling and I don't want to be. I finally picked it up from Audible. I think that may be half my struggle. The narrator reads it like it's written in one solid paragraph. It's a constant stream of words without break or pause for relief. Then, the author talks about lounging in his hotel in Paris, then moves on to running in beautiful Hawaii... I am not sure this book was meant for someone like me.

I am so not okay with how Lila got into the tournament. If there are not serious consequences, I am going to vey very irritated. That said: Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Christ.

I am becoming very tired of hearing how different Lila is. She's not like other girls, not like Other Girls, Not Like Other Girls, and oh, by the way, did you know she's not like OTHER GIRLS? The beautiful world and secondary characters are going to get me through this. Come for spoiled main characters having tantrums like children... stay for vivid descriptions of magical realms.

I am intensely bored. I picked up this book to read about a true crime story. I could not possibly care less about the subject's baseball career.

There is a distinct lack of common sense going on in this book. For the record? I am also thoroughly sick of Lizzie saying, "For the record."
