I really really dislike Katie and I think I’d like to fight her

Such beautiful writing for such a dark premise. I appreciate the narrator’s musings — the things she notices and finds fascinating that we take for granted.

It’s really picked up. Loving the illustration of understanding a tense mother-daughter relationship and a communal way of parenting.

Through letters and emails, reminds us that what one seems isn’t always the case; that everyone has a story of who they are, why they are the way that they are. It’s a book about friendship and about change and about mother daughter relationships and about life.

A fiction by a filipina author that critiques big tech and sheds light on the immigrant experience — I have high hopes for this book… but so far am finding the excessive detail to be distracting, boring even and slows down and muddles the story…
