Another very good Fiona Valpy book, it was at times a story of loss of a baby and also the loss of a wife. But also story of new beginnings and a happy outcome.

As always a really good read.

Really thought provoking it’s scary to think this is how people were treated, who were mentally ill. Unfortunately a lot weren’t mentally illbut gone against their parents wishes.

Really enjoying getting toMaggie and all the other characters.

Quite a complex story of family secrets , also a 14year niece who comes to stay. A mystery is finally solved. A lovely story well worth a read

Only read a couple of pages but not in the correct frame of mind to read a serious book. I love books about China but need easy read whilst in lockdown. I will go back to it.

It was a diversion from life as it is now in Lockdown. A happy ending like Ely characters.
