I swear every other chapter begins with some iteration of “some people thought it was a slow chain reaction building up to the explosion, but most knew that these two towns were about to go to war any minute.” Like just get to the point omg the book should be half the length. I am enjoying it tho

Reading Nadia’s story is very difficult. I haven’t read a book about the Holocaust in quite some time and it is hard picturing these things in my head. So terrible.

I am really getting into the book
