Good book. Very thought provoking and very well written. I like Mitch Albom’s writing style a lot.

Good book. Interesting and sad too. Mom would like to read it.

Not worth my time reading. I never felt connected to
the characters and the writing style was weird. The chapters were disconnected and it the story was hard to follow. Ugh!

Good but sad and predictable. I also felt like the writing was too metaphorical and the author was trying too hard to be overly descriptive at times. Also, there were questions that didn’t get answered like the results of her mother’s autopsy and why she died so suddenly. Overall a sad read.

Strange and pretty dark story. Good ending, thankfully.

Did not finish yet. Picked up another book to read instead.

Good book but had an abrupt ending that was disappointing.

Kind of slow and lots of descriptive writing about the setting which was unnecessary. It’s a murder mystery and not my cup of tea. Not much history in it either since it’s historical fiction.

This was a disappointing book. There were far too many characters in the story to keep track of and I had to go back to previous chapters many times to figure out who people were. I also did not appreciate the sexual scenarios that developed every time the main character, Martha, is with her husband. It was very distracting and was completely unnecessary. Sadly, I won’t remember this story for very long.

Outstanding book. I loved the story and I learned so much about Chinese medicine and culture in the 1400-1500s. Lady Tan was a very likable character. Highly recommend!

A lot of “f” words which was inappropriate and hard to read. Lots of negativity towards God. Not worth reading and I would not recommend it.
