Hard to get into. More stereotypes, more sophomorphic writing. Again this was a gift. Started reading right before Memorial Day weekend & have been more interested in other books since.

So far, much like the first book, is a fun light read with good characters and an easy plot.

Yes! Witches in a modern world w/o the trappings of Harry Potter though the author does use cookies & ice cream a bit too glibly to ward off witchly nerves & power drains. The story is light in plot but it flows well & the characters are dynamic & lovable. It's a good blend of magic, romance, & technology steeped in just enough real facts to make the story plausible.
