I was a little creeped out with the beginning of this one with the puppets and dolls inhabiting the main character’s parents’ house, but it is a lot about the MC and her brother who have a lot of unresolved baggage they are working though. I’m holding off to make many judgments and mostly like this one so far.

So here is the deal. This is book 10 on my current reading list. A few I have abandoned, but I am reading several right now. This feels odd, but yet, it is what I do. I saw this book was a movie and thought, oh, I think I want to read it before I watch it, thus, here we are. It had me at - A dog as friendship and healing from sadness.

Really an interesting story that I know nothing about. It is partially set in USSR in 1933, encompassing the Holodomor - the famine that killed millions of Ukrainians.

Really a sweet story so far.
