This is the worst book I’ve read this year. Every sentence feels pretentious instead of explanatory. Was the editor asleep while the author went bananas? The topic itself is fascinating, so I’m really trying to stay engaged—but so far, this book is anything but the “love letter” the author claims it to be. It reads more like a loveless compilation of research citations. I truly hope it gets better in the next chapter
