“Who brays like a donkey, annoys like a fly, and smells like a ferret? I know that man, can smell him now.”

Damn. Reading is fundamental ig

There was indeed ‘ALL’ type trauma happening, bless but nowhere as severe.

Very cute, and did not cringe as much as other books… so, win!

They’re very cute, very closeted, but very cute… however, I do fear ‘ALL’ trauma-dump pending :/

Tommy and Rowan are very endearing, which is annoying cause this book isn’t written tutto bene (let alone bene) and they both play soccer (yes, South Africans use soccer more readily than football)

I actually love Syb, like I will cry if she dies or goes blind.

Stan Sybil

It’s okay.
Writing is lowkey poor.
But I’m invested in the plot

Been reading bits and bobs since March, got to around page 60.

I enjoy the self-awareness this book has. It’s kinda fun, in a meta way, to feel like you’re in on what the character is saying or thinking… but ig that’s just on me being a nosey nellie

Mrs Dalloway references, hook line and sink 😝 love me some dalloway… also, visceral reaction when ‘A Little Life’ was mentioned :/

I’m not impressed with the end of ‘the happy years’. RAGEBAIT, I’m being regebaited as a reader. smh rn
