Religious or not, this chapter is a great lesson in that to make a relationship between men and women work (especially with women who know their worth) men need to resist patriarchal values and be willing to put actual effort into understanding their partner and her needs. Trust needs to be earned, not manipulated out of women and I'm glad Courtney exemplified this.
