Going back and looking at my review of book 1, I’m trying to decide if this will be for me or not. It’s well written, but I’m not sure I care about the story at all. I’m going to give it a bit more and hope some spark or catalyst happens that makes me want to continue. But the 20% I’ve read so far feels like it could have just been an epilogue chapter to the first book.

I’m a bit over halfway through this book. It’s written well, but nothing has really happened. I barely feel the driving force of the story.

It feels very “slice of life”. I’ll likely finish the book, but if the plot doesn’t start moving I doubt I’ll pick up the sequel.

I’m kind of sad, because her premise was very interesting

I really need to stop reading romantasy. Because I keep side eyeing the smut parts of all of these books. This has been a bit too overt for me. Just not smooth enough for me. It feels very abrupt every time I get to one of those scenes.

But I’m finishing the book because I don’t hate the plot. But I won’t be reading the second one when I’m done.

I am REALLY struggling with this book. It’s mostly well written & has a good story, but the main character is an extreme bigot. It’s part of the story, & it’s intentional, but I feel like I’m being hit over the head w/ a brick every time she interacts with the mushroom people. The amount of slurs she has… *shudders*. I am unsure if I’m going to DNF this, I’m really hoping for some character development.

Way too early review. This is one of the worst chapter ones of a book I have ever attempted to sit though. I am hoping it gets better, but I am annoyed and not having a good time. This is the QUICKEST that’s ever happened for a book for me
