A wonderful book. Taught me things about Ethiopia I never knew. Very moving coming-of-age plot and that's only part of the story. The medical aspects are gripping, absorbing to a layman like me. I bought the book for my sister (a retired doctor) and she liked it so much she re-read the book immediately following her first time through.
