Introduction: Very helpful overview of different themes in the Odyssey, including a background on Homer, authorship, and timing; class, gender, and social politics; the gods and fantasy; and different historic interpretations of Odysseus (though I would have liked a slightly longer overview of this last one).

I love this book - perfect slow read. Infinitely re-readable.
