I gotta stop forcing this one... 35% in and still not sure what the conflict is or where it could possibly be going. I don't necessarily have the same problems with it that other people have, but I don't think I need to stick it out either.

i’m enjoying this but it’s feeling like new york capital region trivia at this point. like, do we need to name drop SO many things that only locals are familiar with? we get it. you summer in the adirondacks or whatever. why even bother making the setting a fictional town when everything else you’re naming is real? it’s distracting af

i'm getting the sense that i will reach a point where i stop even remotely enjoying this so i'm gonna save myself the time and DNF now. maybe fomo will bring me back someday

the cryptic-for-no-reason writing style is really grinding my gears. this is the second book in a series; just give your characters names or get rid of them
