Great to be back on the Outer Banks!

I love this series and wasn't sure what would happen when one of the main characters took off for a vacation of unknown length at the end of the last book. Have no fear! So far, so good! The added character is hilarious!

Couldn't finish. Did not hold my attention, the characters were annoying me, not interesting me.

I couldn't do it. Hemingway just isn't for me. Life is too short to read books that aren't enjoyable

I tried, I really did. I could not pay attention.

I spent 90 minutes trying to listen to this book. I just could not stay focused. My mind kept wandering. Will read the Spark Notes summary and call it good. I had heard this book had laggy, draggy parts. If I zone out from the beginning, there is no hope for the boring parts!

I got to page 50 and had to stop. The whining, the playing the victim was just too much. There are protocols for being royal. They are not rules set up just to piss you off. Grow up.

This book took a turn I was NOT expecting...but it's still got me hooked!

Very, very disappointed in the author for doing zero research on firearms and just repeating the inaccurate information the media lives to toss around. There is no such thing as an assault rifle and automatic handguns are so rare.

Excellent so far...had no clue these women existed.

I tried reading this, it was dry. I tried it as an audiobook last year..it was terrible. I tried a different version with a different narrator and I am hooked!! Such a great story so far.

I'm not sure about this book. Ella is pissing ne off, she is whiny. Isabelle is a much stronger character....or is she? The 1500s were no picnic for anyone. Is she.tough out of necessity or is it her character? I am on the fence. Time will tell.

I love her series and contemporary stand alone. Was not sure what to think about historical fiction, but so far, so good!!

OMG. I'm on Chapter 10. This is worse than modern chick lit. The clothes, this party, that party, how many times she was asked to dance. I'm forcing myself to muscle through this, because I'm re-reading the "classics".

I'm listening to this as an audio book when I walk. I dont think I would like it if I had to read it, but twisted to while walking is fine.

I started this book a while ago, found it kind of sloggy, ran out of renewals and ended up returning it about 75 pages in. I checked it out again and am finding it much more riveting. (Isn't it funny how sometimes a perfectly good book just doesn't grab you based on what you have been reading or what you are doing in life at the moment?) I am enjoying it, well, as much as you can enjoy a book about Hitler....

It was really hard to keep all the characters straight in the beginning. I had to go back a few times to refresh my memory. Once I got everyone figured out, it was easy to continue.

Had to bail at page 6. Not a fan of Jane Austen, but thought perhaps something based on her work by another author would be okay. Nope. Was thoroughly confused and really had no desire to start back at the beginning to really pat attention to who was who.

I grabbed it because it was Historical Fiction. I brought it home because it takes place in the Amoskeag Mills in Manchester. I am on oagev37 and bummed that it is 1:44 am and I am tired. I want to read more.

I am not hating this book, but I am not loving it. Is Nell a simpering woman who cannot live without a man or a take charge and take life head on kind of woman. Is her grandmother a wishy washy old lady or a call it like she sees it, great judge of character? The 2 characters have been both. I don't mind it, but both sides of the same person in the same paragraph? Just puck one already!
