There's been hints of the mystery all along, but at about 60% in it takes a hard turn into it. Which is nice, because I was actually getting tired of camping out in romance land. I want answers!

I really like seeing more of Keegan's POV in book 3. I wish he was in books 1 & 2 this much.

Does anyone else feel embarrassed when they have to renew a book? lol. I know, it's silly.

I'll do it again If I have to.

I'm enjoying Terri Blackstock's formulaic drama/suspense. It's been a duel POV from the start, but this second book is more balanced than the first. I'm hoping they come together again, like in the first. They should! By formula!

Just read an awesome conflict scene that's been brewing between two characters. I'm very interested to see how the story line plays out.

I Just started. It feels literally like a continuation of book one, which is fine because I never would have read it on its own. I don't think it was intended to be.

I guess the main character, Father Time, is supposed to teach two other main characters a lesson about time. (I don't know what yet)

Interestingly, Father Time struggles with issues of his own concerning the same matter. So, I'm super curious how it plays out.

I respect books with short chapters. You can't NOT keep reading.

Who read this one? What did you like about it? Don't give anything away. I'm still reading.

I'm reading another Craig Johnson, Longmire book. I read the novellas. This is a collection or 12 short stories. I'm 3 in and they've each been superb.

Very trashy! Might throw it in the garbage.

Interesting premise, and the first few chapters kept it up. When the sci-fi angle came in, I was curious to see how it would play out.

Then out of nowhere it turned filthy! (sexual content) And it stayed that way.

Even if the garbage was thrown out, the plot fell apart! No rules. Main Character can suddenly time travel. Don't waste your time & $.

I'm enjoying this story on a certain level. Mainly how the author is showing Christianity in an environment that makes believing dangerous.

When the main character finds herself in trouble she does not pray for safety, because God is not a safe God. She prays for courage and boldness.

I know that this is just book one in a trilogy, so it has to be just as concerned for the start of book 2 as it is for the end of this one. I don't see how it's going to pull off the double duty. Honestly, at the moment, I'm not sure it's progressing toward either.

Good problem escalation though! I think that's what's keeping me reading.

An interesting though occurred to me while reading Band of Believers. Of course, it is end-times fiction so by default its going to have an eschatological structure of some sort.

According to the Amazon reviews, others have had the same thought. I'll have to cover it in the review.

I am mildly interested in in end times/dystopian fiction. This is the first in a trilogy and I found it for free on Amazon. Still is at the time of this post if you are automatically interested.

Knowing Jesus and making Him know.

That motto was a bit of a subtle theme in this book, but it was my favorite take-away. Read my Fiction Story/Christian Story review via the link below and tell me if you can relate to reading a book like this one.

Already I'm seeing that I'm pretty much divided between liking the book in one sense, and not liking it all that much in another. The dividing line is between the christian aspect and the story itself.

That's nit to say anything is actually wrong with the story. I just don't find myself overly interested in what will happen next. I AM interested enough to finish reading it though!

I picked it because of a one star review complaining that it preached too much about "God, Jesus, and giving your life to the Lord." I thought, that might be right up my alley.

"she wondered which she would choose: a child who would live to old age, and be eternally lost; or a child who would die at an early age, and go to be with Jesus?"

What a great one line mood catcher at the end of chapter 6. I'm enjoying the tension in this book.

Dystopian from 1981. The way it reads feels older, if that makes sense. I think it is the dialogue. Anyway, that was easy to get used to. I was thoroughly enjoying this book after just a few pages.
