I'm such a dumbass. I got too excited and started skimming so I know the ending. Anyway, Reader (our beautiful little trickster MMC) is my favorite little bean. He just wants her to stay in his world so bad and ofc, she has to try to resist and be a meanie and spoil the fun.

I think this has to be one of the best written books I've ever had. The worldbuilding is absolutely stunning and Holly Black knows how to depict relationships and emotions in such a way. All around amazing book. I don't want to finish!

I'm getting slightly annoyed by how many times the word "moan", "groan" and "widened their eyes" is being used. They aren't even having sex or anything, just moaning to moan apparently

God, she's so juvenile. I know she's early 20s but it's like he married a 13 year old girl

I really enjoy the narrator because she's funny, but on the other hand, she's a bit annoying. She will be in conversations with people and go on pages-long internal dialogue where she imagines scenarios of how the other person will respond and what will happen. And then she'll snap out of it, the other person will respond with a simple "no" or something and the whole pages-long fake scenario will be meaningless

Tried to read Mate but it's been 2 years since I read Bride so I gotta go back. And kinda glad I did- Hazelwood is funny

We have spent almost 100 pages at one ball. That's too many pages.

Enjoying the book so far but I can tell Quinn is an author that focuses most of her energies on dialogue and I am worn out right now with all the talking.

Most is repetitive. Two or more will discuss one thing, another character will come up, so they repeat the entire information again. Good Grief.

Pausing this one since I haven't picked it up in Months!

General update: I am slow-going on this book. I don't know why but it's just not catching and drawing me in
