I decided to start reading this for some reason instead of the other book I was reading. I am just getting to what appears to be the main plot of the story. Up to this particular point the book seemed to mainly be about a teen boys sexual fantasies, which seems accurate for the age. it also is a bit excessive since there is more to a person, but I am willing to see where it goes now that the plot is heating up.

I just started reading this due to it being on my shelf for some time. I decided since I have been reading a lot of fluff and children literature lately that it was time to get into something more substantial.

Starting this book instead of finishing "Ready Player One" made me realize a preference in my reading. I greatly enjoy a book that is set in reality more than I enjoy fantasy or books that have no social importance. When a book deals with issues, such as the subject matter of Alzheimer's Disease in this book, that I can see in the world I am drawn to it and I read it much more quickly. I must listen to this voice.

finished this a few days ago actually, but I immediately started into the next book of the series. This was a good book, but he did seem to rely on trappings of the last two books for some reason. Overall though a child would not find these to be distracting, so overall I have to say this is a pretty effective book in the Brian Saga series.

I started last night into this one. I was pleasantly surprised by the premise and that it immediately puts us back where we left Brian in the first book, which is an interesting concept. I believe I will get through this one quicker than the last book simply because it lands us immediately in the action of everything.

Finished last night. Felt like Paulsen used some of the same story elements here that he used in the first book. While this did occur it did not detract from the overall enjoyability of the book.

finally into the beginning section of him being in the woods. looking forward to reading more tomorrow as this was the part I was looking forward to getting into.

read this as a kid, but didn't know that he wrote more than just one about Brian. As a result, I am reading the entire series.

About to start reading it again. I should finish this book in about a hour tops. I am looking forward to getting the chance to move onto the next book, but I must say that these pages were substantially more interesting and I can see where the series is going. I am looking forward to when my library has the second book available (I am in the hold line for it whenever it becomes available).

I am trying to get through this first book. I can tell that things will get better in later books because this is primarily "set-up". It is establishing certain elements and certain characters are important. I am enjoying it, but it is "dry" in the sense of it feels like things are a bit more forced than the writer would like them to be. I think though I will keep reading the series after this particular book.

I am just starting to enjoy the fantasy elements of this particular read. It really showcases well how these children have to learn a particular craft before being able to fully be a ranger or warrior. it has got me wondering if there are other books or series that do this well as well.

Read some more of this before bed last night. I found that I got more interested in what was occurring in the story once I got past the "Choosing" ceremony. I am finding from that point on I have enjoyed the book better. It seems to have a better focus and more inline with the title of the series, which is "The Ranger's Apprentice." Not the "Castle has many characters within it." :-)

I am very slowly reading this book. I am enjoying it though, just seems like reading takes a lot of energy for me.

I started this because I have always been drawn to this series for some reason, so finally giving it a chance since the library finally had the first book in. I am already enjoying it immensly. It has bits of those "Choosing something" types of YA novels, but also has a lot of the Fantasy elements that I have been interested in reading more of.

This was a good book! Harder to read because of the stylized poetry it is written in, but if you can keep everything straight it is an important book to read.

I read over a hundred pages tonight before realizing how late it was and that I had my last day of work tomorrow. This book is proving to be a good read thus far. I am hoping to have it completed by the end of the weekend at this rate. Angel's parts are resonating with me the most, but all of it is well-written.

this is an emotional read so taking it a bit slowly. When reading it it becomes important to pay attention and remember who is the narrator of that particular part of the book. if you don't do this you will easily get lost.

I picked this back up and trying to read it to finally get it off my TBR pile.

Hope to finish this up tomorrow.
